Welcome to IDEL: Into the Woods
This course will introduce you to themes of community and sharing. Also it will give you an opportunity to meet and collaborate with your fellow classmates.

as we begin are journey, it would help to know what you want to get out of the course, your hopes, your fears, what you will hope to learn and how you will use that knowledge in the future

its important that you have somewhere to showcase your work.
Create a twitter account so that you can update your followers (fellow Students) on what you have been up to and write some tweets.
The subject will be on: what equipment do I need to learn and why is it essential?

find and read two papers on the subject of MOOC's. Try to find different points of view on them and write a short blog post comparing and contrasting them.
Try to represent it not just through words but using images, videos and web links.

no activities this week as sometimes you need to relax and take a step back from what your doing and learning!
but find time to read this interesting article in the guardian. it may help you decide if you want to live in the woods and off the grid full time! haha

what kind of technology could you use to help with understanding the readings a bit more? you can use existing technology or something that hasn't been invented yet. let your imagination run wild.

its always important to have support! to discuss the issues you face and hopefully come to some conclusions
this week we will be taking part in a Collaborate session. you will find the link to the session below. the session will begin at 8:00 PM (GMT) on the 25th of December.
The topic for discussion will be: Do you learn more as an individual or as a group? think it about more in the context of online learning.
