Unit III
In this unit, we have considered the strength of the evidence base for patient and public involvement in research and identified some problem areas. We have also looked at methods for evaluating impact and heard from a researcher about the impact involving patients has had on her and her research. This should enable you to appraise the current ‘state of play’ with regards to the implementation of patient and public involvement in practice. In the next unit, we will look at public engagement and how it overlaps with and complements patient and public involvement.
