Assessment 1 - Questionnaire
The Questionnaire will consists of 3 questions with short (150 words) answers. It is due at beginning of Week 2. Questions are based on topics addressed during Week 1.

Assessment 2 - Individual Presentation
An individual presentation is due on Week 5, the last week of the course. Students are expected to prepare and deliver a 10 minute presentationStudents have the option of a pair presentation of 20 mins. Presentations should take place on Thursday 17:00-18:00 or Friday 11th February 12-1pm (subject to confirmation) Presentations should address one of the following topics:
1. Select a case of the development of the use of 'altmetics', and basis on which they are (becoming to be )used as Indicators.
2. Propose the use of altmetics and alternative digitally-derived data as part of an indicator in a policy or business context, and argue what research would be needed to legitimatise the indicator.
Each student will have an individual tutorial (phone, Skype, text) to support the choice and presentation in the early part of Week 5.
Assessment 3 - Essay
The final assessment consists of a 1.500 word essay to be submitted by the 19th April. The student should decide the essay topic in consultation with the course convenor. The convenor is available to discuss individual cases during virtual office hours, or by pre-arrangement until the 3rd April.
