VIDEO: Computer-aided Drug Discovery for Infectious Diseases
Completion requirements
This lecture will provide a general introduction to some of the ways that modern theoretical and computational chemistry are contributing to the discovery of new pharmaceuticals, with special emphasis on drugs for infectious diseases.
Note that part of this talk touches on Molecular Dynamics, an advanced area of in silico drug discovery which is not explicitly taught in this course. However, it is useful to be aware of the technique - the general concepts and uses of MD are much easier to grasp than actually using the method!
