This might sound odd, but she was really casual with me. It didn't feel formal to speak to her as it does with some professors in school. It felt like I could be really open and honest because she'd reply in the same manner. I find it hard to be open and honest when I feel the need to be super formal or clear in everything I'm saying, so I appreciated being able to speak casually with her. I felt very supported by her whenever I was open about having an issue. I also appreciated how she'd email me back sometimes saying that she didn't know the answer and would get back to me - this made me know that she was sending my request somewhere else and I wasn't waiting for a reply, and I felt like we had a really comfortable rapport.
