Moodle Upgrade - downtime required

Dear Students,

The Moodle Upgrade Project is nearing its completion and it will soon be moving to the LIVE server environment.

Currently the work is due to start at 0900 on Tuesday the 9th of July and is not expected to last more than 3 hours. Moodle will be unavailable during this time. There is an additional at risk period of 2 hours from 12 noon.

See the service alert at:

http://reports.is.ed.ac.uk/alerts/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_alert&alert_id=2988

However the date above is subject to resolving an outstanding server issue in the TEST environment. We will provide an update on progress with that issue later this week when we will confirm whether we are in a position to go live on the above date but we wanted to give adequate notice should the update go ahead as planned.

Once live, your current courses will be available in the new version of Moodle and we hope that the new functionality delivered in the upgrade will provide a more pleasurable experience using Moodle in the coming academic year.

Thanks,

Wesley
