Dear All,
Since we are running a week behind, this week is Crowdsourcing week. I have put up a number of readings and reflective exercises, and an interview with a colleague who works on Digital Citizen Science, Nicola Osborne. The first session focuses on digital citizen science, the second more on crowdsourcing in government and policy.
I will post a recorded lecture later today.
I recommend that you write an essay around this topic, since it encompasses many issued related to Open Data, data protection, mobile research and provides a counter balance to 'naturalistic' online research such as (social) media monitoring, and a more directed and active way of engaging with communities.
I have scheduled an online discussion to go over the readings for tomorrow. Please let me know if this is OK, or too early. We can run it on Friday if that will be easier.
Carolyne still has to do her presentation, which I suggest we do on Friday also, in the same session.
Next week I am free on Monday to discuss essays over Collaborate.
Please let me know about the best time for this week's Collaborate session.
regards
James
