Monday 27th April 2015

16:00-18:00

G.07 Meadows Lecture Theatre, Medical School, Teviot

Speaker: Dr. Jordi Herrera, Associate Professor,
Department of Informatics and Communications Engineering (Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain)

The Social Network Analysis in Scotland Group (SNAS) is running a public lecture on the Privacy of Online Social Networks.

Dr. Jordi Herrera (Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain) has been invited to speak on this topic and talk about his work in the field of privacy and computer security, particularly in Online Social Networks (Please find more information on this link: here).

Online Social Networks (OSNs) have gained an important space in people’s lives. Their popularity and the fact that OSNs provide a breadth of data about human interaction have made them an increasingly popular research topic.

The lecture is open to all academic staff, researchers, postgraduate students and practitioners with an interest in SNA, online social networks and/or “big data”.

The lecture will take place on the Monday 27th April 2015 from 16:00-18:00 in G.07 Meadows Lecture Theatre - Doorway 4 (Medical School, Teviot), University of Edinburgh, George Square, Edinburgh EH8 9LD (Direction on this link: here).

No registration is required. Refreshments will be provided after the lecture. Should you have any questions about the lecture, please get in touch with Mark Wong at m.t.o.wong@sms.ed.ac.uk

Please circulate this event widely amongst your networks and colleagues who might be interested in the lecture also.

We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Warm Regards,

Mark Wong (with Gil Viry, Heide Weishaar and Sotiria Grek)
