Changing Team Culture

I have just read Schroeder (2009). I can relate the ideas of Unfreezing, Cognitive Restructuring and Refreezing an organisation to both my working and my coaching experience. At both a school level and at a National Governing Body. The Grand National Archery Society rebranded as Archery GB, the board of directors has been restructured, paid employees have been brought in to manage Performance, Development etc. New uniforms (blue) for coaches and green, white & stone for judges have been brought in to replace the green blazers and white trousers. Some of the new staff have been change agents and some strengthen the new teams, and finally this week the Chief Exectutive left on Thursday at 3pm by mutual agreement. There are mumblings both good and bad from those that like wear the green blazer and the new uniforms. I wait with interest to see how this works out. Meanwhile anyone fancy a job as Chief Exec of Archery GB? The recruitment process started on Friday.

Schroeder, P.J. (2009). Changing Team Culture: The Perspectives of Ten Successful Head Coaches. Journal of Sport Behaviour. 32 (4), 63-88.
