This reflective exercise asks: what are the reasons to explain why leaders can find it difficult to explore opportunities for colleagues to lead on developments?

Individual reflection

1. Reflect on what you think are the three most compelling reasons why leaders can find it difficult to explore opportunities for colleagues to lead on developments.

2. When you have finished, look at  the Barriers Task: Responses from three groups of school leaders who looked at this issue. Consider ways that you could get round some of the problems or difficulties outlined in this or from your own reflections.
