This ballet class was filmed in an all boys class, however there were only 7 in the class that evening. The class ran for 2 hours so I took from the video the first 10mins from the barre which I consider warm-up and then 10mins from centre practice which comprised mainly of the pirouette exercise.
From the ASOUI it was apparent that I never stop talking in the first 10mins, I finally calm down in the centre. I gave a lot of instruction, however, for every exercise in a ballet class there is always pre-instruction as in ballet the exercise needs to be given. As objectives change every class.
During the barre I gave more concurrent instruction at the barre than in the centre. Iutilized first names, however this was more to grab one boys attention who was half-asleep. There was post-instruction delivered and only a couple of times physical assistance was given.
I think if I had filmed a class of 10 year old children, there would have been a lot more verbal praise, and physical assistance.
