Interesting results.

Christine I wonder whether you think it might be an idea to do a comparative analysis on say, coaching within an inclusive environment vs coaching within a talent development environment..

750 words isn't a lot, im just wondering whether I might be able to draw better discussion that way, especially as im working within different contexts.

Hi Scott

I think there are a lot of comparisons you could make - I have some more results to supplement the numbers so that some valid comparisons can be made.

You are correct 750 words is not a lot and while comparisons can be made I think the whole idea of questioning the basis of observation instruments may also be a useful approach.

This ballet class was filmed in an all boys class, however there were only 7 in the class that evening. The class ran for 2 hours so I took from the video the first 10mins from the barre which I consider warm-up and then 10mins from centre practice which comprised mainly of the pirouette exercise.

From the ASOUI it was apparent that I never stop talking in the first 10mins, I finally calm down in the centre. I gave a lot of instruction, however, for every exercise in a ballet class there is always pre-instruction as in ballet the exercise needs to be given. As objectives change every class.

During the barre I gave more concurrent instruction at the barre than in the centre. Iutilized first names, however this was more to grab one boys attention who was half-asleep. There was post-instruction delivered and only a couple of times physical assistance was given.

I think if I had filmed a class of 10 year old children, there would have been a lot more verbal praise, and physical assistance.

Hello fellow students,

You will find the Master Sheet attached. I have added my initials to the title and thought if you could all then we would all know when it is finished and then can analyse. I hope that is fine Christine?

Great talking today

Regards

Mark

Christine - are we waiting for any more data or can we analyse what we currently have here so far? I am slightly behind on starting this assignment so just wondering whether there are more to come.

I will be on Skype this Friday morning (6th) from 9:15-10:15 if anyone wants to ask any questions about the upcoming assessment or the recently marked assessment.

Any other questions or thoughts welcome as well.

I am sending around a doodle poll to discuss this week's task - could you please complete by Friday 6th so that I can let people know in time when the session will be.

 Hi there.

Sorry these are late.

Im not sure they'l be much use now but please find attached my ASUOI data, captured from a 20 minute segment of a boys U16 Handball session.

A bit of background - The group are a mix between national representatives to inexperienced players. My team train at developmental age, so groups are split (usually in two halves). For 10 minutes I was working in isolation with the 'lower level' players and for 10 minutes I was with higher level. I have the split results if anyone would like to see them but the full data is attached fyi.
